Social Entrepreneurship

What Drives Us?
It is our passionate conviction that every child born into poverty should be given the opportunity to transcend it and that the best chance for achieving this will come through entrepreneurship learning experiences and individual effort. It is our desire at  NetGen Consulting to equip the "Net Generation" with the knowledge and tools to be successful and socially conscious entrepreneurs.

SROI: Social Return on Investment

SROI is an approach to understanding and managing the impacts of a project, an organization or a policy. It is based on stakeholders and puts financial values on the important impacts identified by stakeholders which do not have market values. The aim is to include the values of people that are often excluded from markets in the same terms as used in markets, that is money, in order to give people a voice in resource allocation decisions.

Montessori Day School
is a non-profit 501 c 3 corporation devoted to educating children using the Montessori method as developed by Maria Montessori.

“Education is not something that a teacher does, but is a natural process which develops spontaneously in a human being. It is not acquired by words, but in virtue of experiences in which the child acts on in his environment.”
                --The Absorbent Mind, Maria Montessori

"The Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation is both unique and special in that it focuses its attention on helping those who may be handicapped physically, but won't be denied mentally."
- Martin Grant, Jr., 2000 GKF Scholarship Winner

The Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation (GKF) is a 509 (a)(2) public charity established to help students with disabilities reach their secondary educational goals. The Foundation was established by Nicholas B. Gavalas and Dr. Ronald Kolanko.  Mr. Gavalas and Dr. Kolanko came together to form the GKF in 1999 after becoming aware of the costly requirements for students with disabilities wishing to attend college.  As influential members of the Charleston community, they assembled a dynamic board, supportive staff, and a strategic plan for success.  Gavalas-Kolanko Foundation members strive to assist students with their secondary educational costs, and increase support and awareness of their needs.
